Important info for airport neighbours

You live in the vicinity of Linz Airport and would like to stay up to date on what’s happening there? Noise measurements, environmental hotline, current air traffic or the URIS advisory council: Neighbours of Linz Airport may want to familiarise themselves with the following information.

Noise measurements

Since the end of 2003, noise measurement stations have been in operation around the airport. Linz Aiport purchased two permanent stations and a mobile measuring unit, which track current noise levels around the clock. The results of these measurements are evaluated by the Federal State of Upper Austria (Department of Environmental and Systems Engineering) and documented in regular reports.

You’re interested in the latest measurements and reports? The data of all stations can be viewed any time on the website of the Federal State of Upper Austria.

Environmental hotline

The Austrian aviation sector is strongly committed to sustainable aviation development. This commitment cannot only be seen from the fascinating results of various studies but also from the fact that an environmental hotline was set up. Airport neighbours who have questions about current air traffic and flight operations are welcome to directly contact Linz Airport or Vogler Air Base.

URIS advisory council

Linz Airport takes its responsibility towards the region and its residents as well as its performance and competitive strength within Europe very seriously. It is with this in mind that Linz Airport's management works to ensure that the future development of the airport not only guarantees economic success, but also that this economic success does not come at the expense of people or the environment.

The company is supported in these endeavours by the URIS (transl. – stands for: Environmental Feedback and Information System) advisory council, which was founded in December 1999. It acts as a neutral point of contact for all regional communities – and provides a setting to discuss and address current developments and potential issues.

The URIS advisory council consists of partners and delegates from the following interest groups:

  • local communities near or adjoining the airport (Ansfelden, Hörsching, Kirchberg-Thening, Linz, Leonding, Marchtrenk, Oftering, Pasching and Traun)
  • Linz-Land District Commission
  • Federal Ministry of Defence
  • Upper Austrian Economic Chamber, Linz-Land District Office
  • Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour
  • Federation of Austrian Industry (Upper Austria)
  • Austro Control
